Privacy Policy
Privacy Policy for DaiFlo IoT Dashboard Data Interpreter
Effective Date: July 29, 2025
Thank you for using DaiFlo IoT Dashboard Data Interpreter (the “Extension”). DaiFlo respects and values your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have when interacting with our Chrome extension and our website (www.daiflo.com).
1. Scope of this Policy
This policy applies when you access or use:
-
The DaiFlo website (www.daiflo.com).
-
The DaiFlo IoT Dashboard Data Interpreter Chrome extension (collectively, the “Service”).
We created this policy because transparency about data practices builds trust and is encouraged—even when an app doesn’t collect personal data.
2. Information We Collect
2.1. Personal Information
We do not collect any personally identifiable information from our users. This means we do not gather, store, or transmit your name, email address, phone number, location, or other data that could identify you. Because we do not collect personal information, none of your information is sold to third parties.
2.2. Usage Data
The Extension may collect non‑personal usage data such as the types of IoT metrics you analyze and the frequency of use. We use this aggregated information solely to improve the functionality and performance of the Extension. This data does not identify you personally and is not shared with advertisers.
2.3. User‑Provided Data Sent for Interpretation
When you use the Extension to interpret IoT dashboard data, the content you submit (e.g., device metrics or dashboard text) is sent to the OpenAI API to generate AI‑powered summaries or explanations. With your explicit consent, the Extension may also capture a visual screenshot of your current browser tab. This screenshot, along with DOM information, is transmitted via a secure proxy hosted on Vercel to ensure consistent and protected communication with OpenAI. Screenshots and DOM data are used only to fulfill your request, are processed in-memory, and are not stored or reused by DaiFlo after analysis.
OpenAI does not use your business data for model training. However, OpenAI may securely retain API inputs and outputs for up to 30 days to provide the service and to detect abuse. After 30 days, this content is removed from OpenAI’s systems unless legal obligations require retention. DaiFlo does not retain your submitted content after analysis unless it is part of anonymized, aggregated usage statistics as described in Section 2.2.
2.4. Chrome Extension Permissions and “Limited Use” Policy Compliance
The Extension requests specific Chrome permissions, including activeTab, scripting, and storage, which are used solely to support user-requested actions such as capturing a screenshot or saving your selected engineering role. DaiFlo complies with Google’s Limited Use Policy, meaning:
-
Data is only used to provide or improve functionality directly related to the Extension.
-
No data is sold to third parties.
-
Data is not used for profiling or advertising.
-
Data is not shared except as required to fulfill your requests (i.e., with OpenAI via a secure proxy).
3. How We Use Information
We use the limited information we collect for the following purposes:
-
To operate and maintain the Extension and our website.
-
To deliver AI‑generated interpretations of your IoT data using OpenAI’s API.
-
To monitor usage patterns and improve the user experience.
-
To detect misuse or technical issues and maintain the security of our services.
We do not use your data for advertising or marketing, and we do not sell your data.
4. Cookies and Local Storage
DaiFlo does not use cookies on the Extension or our website. We may store user preferences locally in your browser (e.g., selected engineer role). These entries do not contain personal information and are used only to enhance your experience. You can remove them by uninstalling the Extension or clearing your browser data.
5. Third‑Party Services and Links
The Service relies on the OpenAI API and a secure proxy hosted on Vercel to perform AI-based diagnostics.
-
All requests are routed through DaiFlo’s Vercel proxy, which enforces security, validation, and performance.
-
No user data is logged or stored on the proxy servers.
-
Data sent to OpenAI is handled according to OpenAI’s privacy policies. Inputs and outputs may be retained by OpenAI for up to 30 days, but are not used to train their models.
-
Our website or Extension may contain links to third‑party sites. This Privacy Policy does not apply to those sites.
6. Data Security
We take reasonable administrative, technical, and physical measures to safeguard the information we process from loss, theft, or unauthorized access. All transmissions are encrypted using HTTPS. Screenshot and DOM data is processed in-memory and discarded after each request. However, no system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
7. Data Retention
DaiFlo does not retain personal information. Aggregated usage data may be retained to improve the Extension. Screenshot and dashboard content is discarded immediately after use. OpenAI may retain request content for up to 30 days. DaiFlo does not retain, log, or archive the AI input/output unless specifically anonymized for aggregate analytics.
8. Your Rights and Choices
Because we do not collect personal information, we do not offer account-based data access, correction, or deletion. However, you may:
-
Uninstall the Extension to stop all data transmission.
-
Clear local browser storage to remove saved preferences.
-
Contact us if you have questions about data practices (see Section 11).
We will honor valid legal requests to the extent possible, including under the GDPR or CCPA.
9. Children’s Privacy
Our Service is not directed to children under age 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe we may have inadvertently collected data from a child under 13, please contact us immediately.
10. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes in practices or legal requirements. When we do, we will update the “Effective Date” and post the revised version on our website. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
